Mental health problems are the single cause of disability worldwide. Nearly a billion people (Including 14% of the world’s adolescents) around the world lived with a diagnosable mental disorder in 2019. Post Pandemic in just a year after the pandemic, depressive and anxiety disorders increased by 28% and 26%, respectively. Globally $6.1 Trillion will be lost in economic growth due to mental health conditions in 20 years (2011-2030) & from treatment perspectives, in some countries, the treatment gap for severe mental health conditions is a staggering 90%. For us to think about emotional wellness solutions for the masses, we must understand that the insurmountable gap between supply of human resources and exceedingly high demand is so huge that mental health delivered through digital means can provide definite solutions which can be practically implemented and scaled up for the masses. Key components of public mental health are prevention of mental disorders, promotion of mental health, reducing stigma, policy, advocacy and access to mental health services whereas public mental health interventions are screening & early intervention, treatment of established cases, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, awareness & educational programs so from public mental health perspective, theoretically any robust technology platform with an aggregator model & huge digital bandwidth across respective countries can actually provide solutions from prevention to cure for anyone to access mental health services but it will require involvement of multiple stakeholders to come together from government, non government & private sector in each country of the world with hybrid mental health solutions as top policy agenda everywhere for it to be accessible to everyone in a beneficial form with data privacy and implementation of multilingual, universally acceptable, high quality scientifically validated formats made available for scaling up of emotional wellness for the masses.
